The Great Disconnect 9 - Democrats, the Anti-Parent Party

What is it about intact nuclear families that engenders such Democrat hatred?

By Will Offensicht  |  February 10, 2022

For most Americans, parent-teacher meetings rank right up there with motherhood and apple pie as far as being regarded as wholesome, common, everyday activities.

Alas, this view is sadly out of date.  Last year, the National Association of School Boards negotiated a letter with the White House to send to the "Justice" Department asking the FBI to invoke anti-terror statutes against parents who protest at school board meetings.  Townhall tells us

Attorney General Merrick Garland denied the Department of Justice was treating parents like domestic terrorists.

"Nothing in any memorandum is about parents expressing disagreements with school boards," Garland said.

Our veracity-challenged Attorney General seems to have left out a few details.  An FBI whistleblower stated that the FBI has defined a new threat tag - "EDUOFFICIALS" - to track investigations and assessments of parents who seem hostile to the bigoted racism of critical race theory (CR), boys in girls bathrooms, explicit porn, and other "educational" initiatives beloved of the left.

The Fibbies wasted no time going after activist parents.  WVW Broadcast Network reports:

An FBI SWAT team raided the home of an activist mother of three in Colorado on Tuesday, Nov. 16, knocking down her door, bursting into the house and handcuffing her while she was homeschooling her children.

This is the first known case of the federal government making good on its promise to not only intimidate but actually carry out a raid on a mom who was involved in her local school board politics ...

Besides being a frequent attendee at her local school board meetings, Bishop has also been active in the voter integrity movement in her state and locality. She runs the website Americasmom.net, and on that site she features an article and video under the title "We the Parents: How Did We Get Here?"

She said she has not been guilty of anything but speaking her mind in accordance with her First Amendment rights.

In reaction to these federal goon squads, Senator Josh Hawley (R-MO) introduced H.R. 6056, the Parents' Bill of Rights Act, to defend parents' fundamental rights against efforts to shut them out of their children's education.  Senator Hawley's bill would empower parents to sue federally-funded schools that do not protect certain fundamental rights, such as the right to know what their child is being taught and the right to know what outside groups are receiving school contracts.

The law was introduced on Nov. 19 and had 93 co-sponsors as of Dec. 3.  Since giving large, semi-secret contracts to Democrat-leaning vendors and sneaking unacceptable indoctrination into school curricula are core elements of the Democrat toolbox, we expect this proposed law to be shot down, but at least Republicans will be able to run against Democrats who vote against codifying parents' rights.  After all, this worked to national acclaim for Glenn Youngkin, now the Governor of Virginia.

Who Runs the Schools?

Although the covid lockdowns did nothing to stop the spread of the virus, the distance learning imposed on students had the beneficial effect of rubbing parents' noses in precisely how their children were being mistreated in public schools.  They quickly became aware that many of our taxpayer-funded schools are teaching that white people are by definition oppressors simply by virtue of their skin color, and that blacks and other persons of color are perpetually drowntrodden no matter how hard they work and study.  This message is as offensive to black parents as to whites.

MSN published "Parents like me are fed up with incongruous Democratic policies aimed at our kids" which opens:

When Glenn Youngkin was elected governor of Virginia a few weeks ago, a liberal friend (and former staffer at a progressive organization) told me, "He was elected by angry parents. I can't tell you who I voted for because of my job, but I can tell you I'm a really angry mom."

She was angry over the course of the entire pandemic, as she watched her child's first year of school happen on Zoom, while kids in other parts of the country went in person. She grew angrier as she searched in vain for speech therapy options for her child that didn't involve masks - a useless proposition if you're trying to teach a child the sounds of letters if they can't show or see lips moving. The final straw for this friend came the eve of the election. The Democrat, Terry McAuliffe, brought as his closing speaker at a rally none other than the woman many Americans blame for extended school closures: American Federation of Teachers president Randi Weingarten.

The message to Virginia parents was clear: A vote for McAuliffe was a vote for schools to stay the same, for distance learning and closures and disruption to become the status quo for another four years. Virginians rejected that premise by electing a Republican governor for the first time since 2009.

They not only elected a Republican governor, they elected a Republican gun-totin' woman of color as Lieutenant Governor, a Cuban-American as Attorney General, and swung the lower house Republican.

President *'s press secretary responded by pouring gasoline on the flames of parental resentment:

Psaki: to "keep kids safe" they need to eat silently/outdoors/distanced because 5-11 vax only recently approved.

No matter how the MSM tries to hide the facts, parents know that kids are nearly immune to covid, and that the vaccine causes problems.  Why should their kids have to be vaccinated as a condition of attending school?

As commented on Twitter:

This is misinformation. Unvaccinated kids are at *lower* risk than vaccinated adults, who have the liberty to eat indoors at tables and talk.

An MSN writer put it:

That Psaki is speaking on behalf of the Biden administration in defense of measures stripping our children of their childhoods while adults go to concerts unmasked is a McAuliffe-Weingarten-level strategic error. Parents are angry: We see what is being done to our children and we understand how unnecessary much of the pandemic theater is when it comes to our kids.

The word is spreading.  First transgenderism to destroy women's athletics, now covid masking, remote learning, and CRT to destroy children's education.

Let a bear robbed of her whelps meet a man, rather than a fool in his folly. Proverbs 17:12

Are Democrats really foolish enough to double down on sending the FBI after parents who question school boards and steal children by ridiculing their parents' preferred teachings?

They've recently seen the righteous consequences of their actions: where Democrats once controlled the entirety of the government of the State of Virginia, they now control the state Senate, barely.  Many pundits predict a similar shellacking at the elections this fall, so it's perfectly understandable that Democrats would be working to prevent this unfortunate (for themselves) event.

The problem is, rather than avoid this fate by dumping the policies that are infuriating the voters, Democrats are continuing their ongoing efforts to make sure they they control the voting, or at least the vote-counting, so as to ensure the "correct" result every time.  We'll take a look at this in the next article in our series.
